- Walking Improves Your Dog’s Physical Health.
Because walking is a form of exercise, walking is a sure way of helping your dog get in shape and stay healthy. Walking improves bone strength, leg strength, and will aid in maintaining a healthy body weight.
2. Walking Helps You and Your Dog Make Friends.
Dogs and humans are social animals and need social interaction with others of their kind to stay healthy. Taking your dog for a walk, especially to a place like a park for instance, is a sure way for you and your canine companion to make friends!
3. Walking Will Grow Your Bond.
As mentioned in the previous point, humans and dogs are social. Dogs are known as “man’s best friend” for a reason. Walking is a great way to spend time with your dog and increase the bond between you.

4. Walking Will Help Boredom.
Humans and dogs, alike, both need mental stimulation. A great way to do this is through walking. It will allow the owner and dog to get out of the house and explore the neighborhood or local dog park.
5. Walking Can Decrease Your Dog’s Unwanted Behavior.
A dog, especially a puppy, can have an excessive amount of energy. A great way to release this energy is through walks. A dog releasing this energy will lead to a decrease in chewing on items such as the couch or shoes.
6. Walking Can Lead To Training Opportunities
Some dogs are not used to being on a leash, if they were taken on daily walks, they will grow to become more comfortable with a leash. The owner could train them to not tug on the leash.
